Embedded fonts, PC-Mac

I've been sent a PowerPoint presentation prepared on a PC, each
slide of which includes the corporate name in the bespoke corporate
font.

This TrueType font has been embedded in the document and apparently
appears correctly on PCs which do not have the font installed.

On the Mac, however, it renders as the letters a to l in 72 point
Symbol. This actually looks rather impressive but it's not what's
required.

Distributing the font itself is not an option and the originators
seem reluctant to use a graphic. Given this, is there anything
that can be done, either on the originating PC or the receiving
Mac, to get the corporate name to appear correctly?

Fonts aren't embeddable in Mac PPT and Mac PPT can't use fonts that are
embedded by other PPT versions.

Using a graphic or changing fonts are about the only options.

Thanks for the response, Steve.

In principle, one further option is to "Save as Web Page..." - the
ultimate cross-platform solution - but I can't get this to work
properly. Explorer shows a blank page, Safari comes up with "file
doesn't exist' messages and iCab messes up the layout. Is it worth
pursuing this option or would it be too much trouble?

Saving from the PC may require you to set options that include support for
older browsers. Is there someplace you've posted this publically? I'd be
happy to have a look.

Sorry for the delayed reply ... have been away from the office.
