embedded formatting

Dave Pitzer

I often cut portions of text that I have typed into MS Word 2000 and paste
it into my mail program's editor for mailing to a friend. The resulting
email message contains embedded formatting symbols as shown here:

Wasn?t until the bartender had conducted a thorough interview that things
went back to almost normal, but apparently, people around here aren?t very
used to tourists or even strangers. I didn?t tell that I was a
time-traveller, the brochure advises against it and something told me
they'?d probably burn me at the stake, if.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns =
"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

How can I get rid of this formatting text?

Thank you,

Dave P.
