Embedded macro in template to generate a sequential number

Hi,

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this
question, but it has the closest connection that I could
find.

My supervisor has given me a Work Order form saved as a
Word 2002 template. He wants me to embed a macro in a
field labelled Work Order #. This macro is supposed to
utilize a time and date stamp to generate a sequential
number for this field.

While I basically understand the concept of macros, I have
no knowledge or experience with them. Can anyone direct
me on how to accomplish this or, if it has been previously
completed, to download it?

I appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Jerry

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for your response. While I had previously searched
for and reviewed the article you suggested, it did little
to help me write a macro. I have no knowledge of or
experience in creating macros, so I don't even know where
to go in Word to begin.

Thanks,
Jerry

No further questions necessary. I found another way to
achieve the desired result. I just inserted a Time form
field and modified the format to my specs. Thanks anyway.
