Embedded objects in a Word 2003 file appear as broken links (box with a red
X). Click or right click and select open and Word tells me the original
application is not installed. Example: :This object was created in Word.
This application is not available to open this object. Make sure the
application is properly installed and that it has not been deleted, moved or
renamed."
The applications (Word, Excel and Visio) are all installed and operating on
my PC,
Attempting to delete and re-insert the file results in the same situation.
The field code says {EMBED Excel.Sheet.8}, but nothing shows.
I have already repaired the file, copied all but the last paragraph marker
to a new file, deleted a possibly corrupt DATA key (per other MS Support
Posting) and repaired my Office Installation.
This document needs to go to my customer ASAP. Appreciate any help available!
