A strange phenomenon that occurred a couple of years ago with Office2000 and
Win2K has occurred again to me, this time with OfficeXP and WinXP Home
Edition.
I noticed that suddenly I couldn't use the Equation Editor any more. When I
clicked on an Equation Editor object, it said the application was
unavailable, etc., would you like to install it? So I did ... and then it
still didn't work, saying the application was unavailable, etc.
But then: I noticed that this was the case for ALL embedded objects: an
Excel sheet, a graph, everything. A general problem with embedded objects
like that.
Now for something even stranger: when it happened a couple of years ago, one
day, after several months, suddenly everything worked again! I almost had
the feeling it was all due to some operating system update or something.
But right now, with the current XP installation, the problem is there, and I
am absolutely clueless as to what is going on.
Anybody seen this strange phenomenon before?
Thanks,
John
