embedded objects gets displayed as {EMBED Package}

When I switch from Reading Layout to Normal/Print Layout all the links
(Hyperlinks, embedded objects etc) are changing to texts like
{HYPERLINK "http://devas01:8877/view/main_UX/find_changes.php"}
{EMBED Package}

I tried repairing MS Word and as a final solution, even reinstalled the
entire MS Office 2003 package. Still the problem exists. Any help is much
appreciated.

Press Alt+F9 to switch between display of field codes (what you see now)
and field results. If that doesn't help, then in Word 2003 or earlier,
click on Tools | Options | View tab | uncheck the boxes for "All",
"Hidden text", and "Field codes" | Print tab | uncheck the boxes for
"Hidden text" and "Field codes" | OK.

The solution was to turn off the 'Field codes' check box under the 'Show'
section in Tools ->Options -> View Tab.

This helped but Location in Office 365 Word is File -> More -> Options -> Advanced -> Show Document Content -> Uncheck 'Show Field Codes Instead of their Values'.
