I am encountering a problem I have subsequently solved
with the use of the ""winword.exe" /a" switch from the run
option in Start. However I am trying to get to the bottom
of why the problem occured in the first place and whether
theres any other way I can solve it in future without
having to use the /a switch.
The problem occured when a member of staff had created a
document which contained an object (in this case it was a
Microsoft Word Picture). The picture displayed correctly
on the staff member's own PC but when viewing the document
on another staff member's machine, the picture did not
display. Instead it showed a line of text saying something
similar to {EMBEDDED WordPicture 8}.
Myself and the other IT support staff have not been able
to replicate the error and the file seems to display
properly on all the other PCs we have tried it on. If
someone knows why this happens and how to solve it I'd be
grateful so that I have the knowledge to do it myself in
the future.
Thanks,
Greg.
