Embedded photos in Outlook 2007 look terrible

Hi folks I am getting very frustrated with outlook as when I embed my photos
into my emails.
When I embed them in my email they are bigger than the original photo and
distort terrible when sent. They do have handles on them to make smaller etc
but that doesn't help as I want the to embed like they do in outlook express.
If I put send them as an attachment they stay good but I need to be able to
embed them.. Is there something I need to change so that when embedded they
are the same as the original.
Thanks for your help.

Perhaps if you explained why you need to embed them rather than attach them?

Because some photography groups I belong to prefer them that way and also if
I am trying to explain how to do something re photos it is easier if I can
embed them so that I can write about each step as I go with a photo to match
and then the instructions can be printed off

Well, this is just a suggestion but it will eliminate Outlook's quirks from the equation.

Create a Word document with your inserted pictures and your added explanations and send that as an attachment to your email.
