Embedded pictures are not showing up in my Word 2002 documents

I have XP Pro operating system and Office XP Pro. When I paste a picture
onto my Word 2002 document it doesn't show up. If I "Save as" it will often
show up. Go figure. I'm lost and desperate. To demonstrate how desperate,
if I don’t figure this out by days end I’ll be forced to call Bangladesh or
Manila for Microsoft Tech Support and praying the individual on the other end
is understandable!

Try this:
Slide the acceleration down on your adapter, control panel, display folder,
settings tab, advanced button, troubleshoot tab.

If this brings your pictures back in view, you need to update your
graphics/video driver. Go to the manufacturer's web site and look around.
