Embedded spreadsheets changing fonts or not displaying at all.

My company recently moved from our older office software to 2007 and now I'm
having problems with spreadsheets that were imbedded in all of our .doc
files. When I open the sheets inside Word, I can edit the fonts to what I
want, but when I exit the editing, the characters change. If I open it back
up, it looks fine but it gets messed back up if I close it. They also do not
print correctly.

I have tried coverting both the spreadsheets and the word documents to 2007
files, but to no avail. What can I do to fix this?
