Embedded Visio object in Word not visible when opened

I created a Visio 2002 SR-1 object into a Word document
(2002 SP-2) and edited it several times using right click -

Visio Object -> Open. Now when I try to edit the

object, Visio opens with a blank drawing of the wrong
size. When I exit and return to Word, the Visio object is
resized.

Any suggestions?
