Embedding Elements in Word

I have a specific need to have a calculation table in a word template. The
table should be able to calculate percentage (X is what percent of Y). I've
tinkered around for far too long trying to create such a table, but I see
that this same thing is available on many websites in javascript and on some
sites as a widget.

Can I embed one of these into my page? Is there an easy solution to creating
a calculating table?

In answer to the last question: No. Closest you could get to "easy" would be to
insert an Excel sheet and set that up to do the calculation.

That is, unless you can find a COM ActiveX control for your requirements that's
been developed in such a way that it meets Word's requirements for ActiveX. The
controls provided for VBA UserForms, for example, can be embedded in Word
documents.

Otherwise, you'd have to develop something like this yourself, which would mean
VB 6 or some other development language/environment that supports creating COM
ActiveX controls. .NET Framework can do this, but it's a lot more work - and
not a topic of discussion in this VBA forum :)

Please note, however, that such a control will activate Word's VBA storage and
thus trigger macro security - which may or may not be an issue for you.
