How do I embed the fonts into the document when saving?
There should be such an option somewhere in the "Preferences -> Save" menu, but I cannot find it.

*Should be*, perhaps, but isn't - Word doesn't support font embedding.

Sorry: Mac OS does not support Font Embedding. Windows does.

Thanks a lot, guys. Absence of font embedding makes it difficult to print out the documents from another computer:(
I had to use Adobe pdf format afterwards..

Font Embedding? in MS Office?? I though that as an acrobat thing?

I've always thought of you want a document to look identical regardless
of computer, you saved as a PDF either the apple print menu (Save as
PDF/save as Postscript file). or use some form of PDF creation program
such as acrobat.

Hi Phillip:

You can actually do it in any Microsoft Office document in Windows. That's
where Adobe got the idea :)

The Windows type manager enables fonts to be installed on the fly from
within the document that requires them. Mac OS has never allowed this.

Increasingly, fonts don't allow themselves to be embedded, for copyright
reasons, so the mechanism is little used. So I guess there's no point in
spending money to bring it to the Mac.

Cheers
