Embedding graphics in Access 97

I need to embed customized images in my database. (I don't
want to link). I have a field defined as an OLE object.
In my form, I right-click on it, select Insert Object,
Create New, then choose from a list of Object Types. I do
not get a choice of WMF, GIF, or JPG. BMP only lets me
draw. I select Paint Shop Pro 7 Image, which allows me to
cut and paste from my reference drawings, then modify and
save. This works great, but, of course, my files are huge.

This sounds weird, but I don't know what format it's being
saved as. PSP just calls it "embedded image*" with no
extension. Does it make any difference? Why can't I
choose GIF or JPG? PSP is the program associated with BMP
- why doesn't it come up when I choose to create a BMP? Is
there something I'm missing, or do I just live with it?
