1. Is it possible to Embed an image in a cell?

2. Will this enable the images to move with the cell if new lines are added in a shared document?

No, all objects float on the sheet.
2. Will this enable the images to move with the cell if new lines are added in
a shared document?

That is the default behavior. Double-click an image to get to the Format
Picture dialog. You'll find other options on the Properties page.

yup

thanks Bob, I did test a shared document, and the images do move with a row when adding new rows. Adding images is disabled, and if I cut/paste a row with an image in it, it will cut the row with the image, but only paste the row text, and the image disappears. It seems that excel will not allow images to be added to a shared doc, and treats a pasted image as a new image. that's my guess.

I've never really tried but I wouldn't be surprised. There are a number of
features rendered unavailable in a Shared Workbook - that may be one.
