I have linked to files some pictures I inserted into a Powerpoint presentation.
Could you tell me how to break those links and embed the pictures instead?
What version of PowerPoint do you have (or have access to)?
If 2004 or previous, some VBA code can sort out the problem.
Or if you can work with pretty much any Windows version of PPT, the free demo version of our
PPTools FixLinks add-in can either make linked images pathless so they work more reliably or
convert them to embedded images.

I am also frustrated with the linking feature... it's great to reduce file size and make saving
changes quick, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to edit / observe the links. ALSO ...
the "save as powerpoint package" feature DOES NOT save the linked files. What a pain!!
There are several different kinds of links you can use in PowerPoint. With most of them, there's
a way to get at the filename of the linked file. Unfortunately, not so with linked images.
Again, if you have a version of PPT prior to 2008, you can do this with VBA; say the word and I'll
be happy to help.
