Embedding MIDI in PPT 2003

Hi, all,

I have a midi file that won't embed, and it's like 8K. We've tested this on
two workstations with the same result. WAV files embed just fine. I
checked the default "link size" option in Tools | Options.

What else can I check? Does PowerPoint 2003 / Windows XP have trouble with
MIDI, or are there other exceptions for the "link" versus "embed" logic,
than size?

A KB search, a Google search, and a Google Groups search turned up nothing.

Secondarily, is there a way I can force a file to be embedded without
changing my default in Tools|Options|General?

DUH. Searches work better when you spell PowerPoint correctly.

Now I see that midi doesn't embed. Is there any help file or article that
explains this?

In a nutshell, the only media that can be embeded in a presentation is wav
files. All others are linked.
