Embeded object problem in word

I'm having a problem with I think the setup of MS word. I get an error
just on this machine (use same SW on others and it works) when I try to
embed objects like power point slides (and excel, others like pic seem
to work). I tried to reload office and had the same problem. I was
using office 2000 I just upgraded to office 2003 hoping that would fix
it, same problem.

The problem and messages are as follows:

I do a insert/object/pp
Microsoft Office Word can't start the application required to open this
object. An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning
properly. Would you like to repair it this feature now?

I click yes.

Goes through installing stuff then I get another dialog box with:
This object was created in Power Point. This application is not
available to open this object. Make sure the application is properly
installed and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed.

And be fore you ask yes power point starts up just fine.

Any thoughts?

If you're using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the
Office Plugin that comes with it. See

Thanks I found that one also and it did not work I still have the
problem. Even disabled Norton for a while an it still had the problem
