emedding sound

I am using Outlook 6.0 and run Windows XP. When I open
up a 'new message' box and go to Format, Backgrounds,
sound, I enter a midi or wav. file and it imbeds itself
into the message and is suspose to play automatically
when the other person opens up their email message. It
doesn't work. Can someone tell me how I can fix this
