empty item entry in extra menu?

Unfortunately it's something for which the cause remains unclear, but it's
been that way for years... both Menus & Toolbars will occasionally
misbehave. AFAIK there's no way to prevent it but it can usually be cured
rather easily :)

Go to View> Customize Toolbars & Menus ... - Toolbars and Menus, click the
name of the Menu Bar then click Reset. It should be back to normal once you
OK out of that dialog.

OK, then let's look a little further...

You indicated that you "just installed it" - Have you applied the current
updates since installing? What is your exact update level of Office & OS X?

Is the missing item there if you launch Word while holding the Shift key? If
you run Word from a different User Account does the missing menu item show
up? [BTW: The missing item is "AutoSummarize", although I don't know how
that translates in your language version.]

actually, I said when I just installed it, witch is about a month ago

and, no, both don't make a difference,
I do have the updates yes
I use Mac OS X 10.4.11 (fully updated)
and office 12.2.0 (090605) (again, with all updates)

and it should be "automatish samenvatten"
OK, then let's look a little further...

Then try this:

Go into the Customize dialog again & click the Tools menu item that appears
on the Word Menu Toolbar [which displays directly beneath the regular Menu
Bar]. Control/Right-Click the empty space where the command should be & see
if you can select Reset Command.

If that command isn't available or the item still isn't there when you
reopen the Menu Toolbar go to the Commands page of the dialog, select Tools
from the Categories list then locate the AutoSummarize command in the
Commands list. Drag it to the Tools menu item then down to where it should
be located & drop it there.

Let me know how you make out.
