empty page preview

I'm using a G4 powerbook with OS X. When I open my older
Excel files (created with win98) everything looks fine. But
when I change to print preview or page break preview both
are empty and the printed pages are blank.
If I copy-paste the content to a different worksheet of the
same document, everything works fine again. Any ideas? Thanks!
