enable data access pages on the internet

We are trying to enable data access pages on the internet for external user.

we are getting errors working on our connection settings.
for example,
"data provider could not be initialized"
"not a valid file name"
"Microsoft Office Web Componenst could not open the database"

What does the data source on the .htm files need to show? We tried local
data paths beginning with c:\....mdb and unc paths as well.

Any help would be great. Thanks!
