enable / disable macro message appearing w/ security level set to low

Has anyone ever had trouble with the message asking to
enable/disable macros still appearing with the security
set to low? The message is only suppose to appear with
the security set to medium. I'm running XP with Word 2002
service pack 3. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
