enable macros

I'm trying to paste the result of an add-in from excel onto a word document
and I keep getting the following error. It's titled visual basic and the
error is the macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online
help or documentation of the host application to determine how to enable the
macros. Any help on how to get rid of this error would be appreciated.
