enabling a new font in MS Word

I am using MS Word in Office X, and have downloaded a
technical font, categorized Unicod. The International icon
is enabled in the menu, however, although the font I want
is available in web based correspondence, the font is not
available in MS Word documents. How do enable it in MS Word?
Suggestions?
Thank you.

Did you close and restart Word? If so, where did you put the font?

:-\ Word X does not support Unicode.... You'd need Word 2004 for this
type of font.

Disregard - missed the Unicode. Word v.X doesn't support unicode fonts.
Word 2004 does.
