Enabling Logging? "Call Contacts"

I am trying to get some logging information from Outlook
for an issue that we ran into. We are trying to use
the "Call Contact" feature to make a call and we need to
choose a specific line device from the Dialing Options
dialogue. We would like to see what is happening with
Outlook at that point.

Is it possible to option Outlook to provide log info (to a
file, a debug window, etc.) for the "Call Contact" feature?

Is this something that can be done only with working with
a developer SDK?
