Enabling macros message box keeps popping up

I have Office 2003. Every time I open or close a Word
document, a message box entitled 'Microsoft Vsisual Basic
dialog box' pops up telling me that I must enable macros
but does'nt tell me how. I uninstalled and reinstalled
Office many times to try to correct the problem but
without success. Can anyone tell me please what are those
macros for and how to enable them? Thanks

Tools > Macro > Security

Set it to medium and (probably) allow it to open macros in templates in your
templates folders and startup folder to run.
