Encountered a problem and needs to close

For the last couple of days we are receiving an error message in Excel and
Word whenever we open a document and try to edit it. The document will open
fine- but as soon as you try to make any changes- the error message pops up-
and it closes down. Its the typical Error message "Word has encountered a
problem and needs to close"
The error report has this listed:

Error Signature
AppName: winword.exe AppVer: 12.0.4518.1014 AppStamp:45428028
ModName: Unknown ModVar: 0.0.0.0 ModStamp:00000000
fDebug: 0 Offset: 00000000

We have uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Small Business 2007. But, as I
expected, it did nothing.

I have two computers that are the EXACT same- and only one is having this
problem. So I know its not an update issue.

Here are the specs-
Dell Precision 390
Windows XP Pro
Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 (we dont use the power point or Access-
so this is only showing right now in Excel and Word)

I'm sure I'm missing some important information- but I will be happy to
supply whatever is needed. Any help would be great- I have a feeling its
something simple- I just cant figure it out.

Thanks!
