Encrypt Word Doc

I understand how to encrypt a document but I need to send it over the email
and I don't want to send the message with the password displayed in the body
in case it is intercepted. How can I overcome this? Do I need to use email
that has encryption capability instead?

You could call the recipient and tell them what the password is.
