Hello,
One of my clients has a lot of qualms with regards to the SQL authentication
that is needed for Project Server. They have now basically accepted that
this is the only way its going to work, but they have some more questions
which i would appreciated if you guys could try and answer for me:
1. The connection information for project server is stored in the registry,
under the keys:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\MS Project\WebClient
Server\ProjectServer\Datasets\Application" and
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\MS Project\WebClient
Server\ProjectServer\Datasets\WinProj". The password here seems to be
encrypted, and i need to find out what encryption is used for this.
2. The permissions on these keys are quite wide open, with the USERS group
having read access on this key. I need to find out if it is possible to
severly limit the permissions on these keys - basically so that ONLY the
SYSTEM group and the ADMINISTRATORS group has access.
Thanks!
