end of line, not end of last word typed

A friend of mine insists that his old word program when hitting the END
key would take you to the end of the line, not the end of the last word
you typed in th at line. I think he does his menu's for his restaurant
and that would make sense that he would put the item then want to go
all the way to the right side to put the price .
I got him to Switch and he is pulling out his hair on how to find a way
to get the curser move all the way to the right side of the screen,
where then he backspaces a few to put in the price.
Is there a key combo for this.
I found alot of lists but none worked. All end does is go to the end of
the last word in the line.
thanks for any info

He should set a right-align tab for his entire document, then he can type
the item, hit tab, and it will take him to the margin.

Actually, he probably wants a decimal-alignment tab, which will align the
prices on the .

The Format | Tabs dialog lets one set this up, or it can be done through
various clicking patterns on the ruler which are hard to explain, but Help
has pictures of.

I don't think END ever works as he thought, though not positive.

can you give me a step by step on this right tab thing.? sorry Im word
deficient
If you put "set tab stops" into Help, it will give you a better description
than I can. Seriously, it will, I'm *not* just saying "read the manual".
My directions would involve the Format | Tabs dialog, which is the long way
around and probably more confusing, while Help has pictures.

Make sure you use that search term, though, and that's the exact topic you
want, at least in Word 2004. Probably either a decimal tab or a right tab
will work equally well.

Hi, Laura

This way will probably work even better for him: In the top left corner
of the document, click and hold the tab symbol (angle arrow) and select
"right." Then, click and drag in the ruler area to create a tab and
drop it at the right edge of the document. Press tab (or option-tab if
you're in a list) to tab over to that point in the page, right aligned
so he won't have to backspace.
Good luck.
