endnote crash

All the endnotes but one in a document I edited in Word disappeared from
the saved version. I was able to restore a older copy from my iDisk and get
the work back (copying the iDisk version into a new document and saving
that), but then the notes disappeared again.

Now Word crashes everytime I try to access the one note that's still there. I
uninstalled everything Microsoft-related on the hard drive, using the
Remove Office utility, and reinstalled. Word just crashed again.

Any ideas?

I have an iMac and use OS X.3.5 and Office 2004.

Hi Sylver,

Endnote is notorious for crashing Word. The update which is due out before
long (I think) will hopefully fix things. You'll find more here:

Are you actually using the program EndNote?

Beth and Daiya,

I've just been using the regular notes function in Word that lets you choose
footnotes or endnotes. I'm not sure what the Endnotes program is that
you're mentioning.

Out of curiosity, what view were you using, and how did you try to access
the note?
