endnote format

L

Linda

When referencing a single sentence with several endnotes,
I would like the result to be, for example:
I love Hurricane Isabel.1-5
instead of:
I love Hurricane Isabel.1,2,3,4,5

How can I do this?

Thanks very much.

Insert the endnotes as usual, but don't bother with the commas. After the
first number, insert an en dash, then select all the remaining numbers
except the last and format them as Hidden (Ctrl+Shift+H). The endnotes will
still exist and all will work properly, but you won't see the reference
numbers when you print.
