Endnote numbering

All,

I'm adding multiple, consecutive endote references to a
single line, and would like them to appear as a range
(e.g., 1-7) vs. as inidivual entries (e.g.,
1,2,3,4,5,6,7). Does anybody know how to do this?

From a post in the Page Layout newsgroup by fellow MVP Suzanne Barnhill

This must be done manually but is easy enough. Insert all the footnotes as
usual. Don't bother to put spaces or commas between the footnote reference
marks; just pile them up 1234. Then insert an en dash after the 1 or before
the 4. Select 23 and press Ctrl+Shift+H to format them as Hidden. The
footnotes (and their reference marks) will remain, but only "1-4" will
display or print.
