Endnotes skipping a number--Please help!!

I'm editing a long document with almost 70 endnotes. some
of the endnotes skip a number. I've searched and found
every one, and they're just misnumbered. All i want to do
is to fix (renumber) the one in the middle of the doc that
is misnumbered to fix the rest! i've tried everything that
I can think of.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Problem solved inadvertently: After saving the doc
w/another name and accepting all changes, the numbering
fixed itself. I wouldn't have thought of that...

Yes, Track Changes can cause problems with numbering until all the changes
are accepted/rejected.
