Engineering Change Request Database

I would like to set up a Database that serves as our Engineering Change log
as well as lets people view information about the Engineering Changes. My
Database would have to contain information about Customers affected,
Description of the change, Departments Affected, Etc. I want the Engineering
Change Request Number to be generated automaticaly when I start a new Change.
I would also like to be able to use Internet Explore as a way to both enter
and view information about the changes. ie: I would like to have a list
generated in IE to view all the changes and then be able to pick on one to
show all the information about it.

I should be able to do a lot of this right now, but I am not sure:
1. if I should use several Database or just one.
2. how to relate them together if I would use more than one.
3. how to create the forms in IE to access the database(s)

Is there any good tutorials out there that would show me this info?? of can
someone give me a brief example or show me what I need to do.

I don't want someone to do my work for me, I just need to be pointed in the
right direction.

Thank you!!!

Microsoft has a variety of templates for use in Access. There are two on the
page this link goes to which might provide you with some ideas, or perhaps
can be modified to fit your needs.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/CT011366681033.aspx

One of them is an Issues database, which is a way of tracking issues, which
could perhaps be changed to track engineering changes. The other one is
perhaps less useful, and that is the Service call management database. I
point that one out because if you are tracking engineering changes, you might
also need to track service calls as part of the changes.

You will need to set up your database, in particular the tables, first,
before worrying about how you are going to display the information. It is
possible to post data on an html form/page, but you will need access to a
server share to do that.
