English software - Chinese links - Confirmed Genuine Copy

I bought a copy of Office 2007 Pro on eBay. The seller turned out to be from
Japan, not LA like the ad said. It arrived in a slim box - not the yellow
swivel box. The box was labeled OEM and said there was no software inside.
However, there was software inside in a sleeve. Everything works fine. The
software even passed the MS genuine validation test.

So, you're wondering whats the problem? Well, I have a blue star on my tool
bar. When I hover over it, four rectangles and the word "Office" show up.
When I click it, I am directed to a site that is in Chinese. I also get a
message that pops up on my screen from time to time. It is in Chinese for
the most part.

First of all, is this a very good pirate copy? If not, how do I get rid of
the pop up message and the blue star?
