Enhanced metafile troubleshooting

When I paste graphics or text from Excel to Word or PowerPoint using the
Enhanced Metafile format, colored fonts are pasted in black. This is a new
problem - colored fonts used to paste in color. I have recently installed SP3
for Windows and SP3 for Office, but can think of no other changes.

I use Office XP.

Try changing your default printer to a color printer. Sounds weird, but it
usually fixes this issue.

Brilliant! You are my hero!

Must I leave the default printer as color? [I think I did recently change
the default printer to a black and white one]

Thanks for your answer - I had spent hours looking for one.

You know, that's a good question, and I don't know the answer. I've never
been able to repro the problem, so I haven't been able to try it and see.

I suspect there's some combination of factors that actually cause this,
because I know that not everybody using a B/W printer as default has this
problem! I just don't know what the combination actually is.

You're welcome. It's definitely a bizarre one.
