Enourage 2008: PDF-Attachement is not shown!

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

When I send or receive an email with a PDF-Attachement, the PDF is not shown in the email as picture, whereas a JPG is shown.
Office X, which I used before, did show a PDF!

In preferences the "Show pictures …" is checked.

What's wrong?
