ENT 2008 Standard breaks my exchange password

I have been using Entourage 2004 with our work exchange server on my MacBook Pro, and just upgraded to 2008 today. My account upgraded fine (seemingly), but when I connect it says my username and password have been rejected.

I thought that maybe some settings changed, so I double checked against the IT guy and the Macs at work and they are identical. So I figured maybe it was an upgrade issue, and I removed the installation, and did it on a 100% clean Mac Mini, same issue.

Next, knowing our Exchange host (usa.net) supports IMAP, I set up an IMAP account in Ent 2008, same user and password, and it worked just fine.

So I am stumped. Is there some subtle difference between 2004/2008 that I need to adjust?

Any ideas?

Open the Keychain Access utility found in /Applications/Utilities and
search for your Exchange password item. Delete it and quit Keychain Access.

Try to connect to your Exchange Server again. You'll need to re-enter
your password.

Hope this helps!

Tried that, didn't help though. I get the same error (User Name or Password incorrect).

I don't know much about our Exchange host, I have to go through IT at work to get any information from them, but I guess that will be the next step if I can't find anything out this weekend.

While I don't think this is your problem if you've been using Entourage
2004 with Exchange without problems, it wouldn't hurt to ask your admin
if he has applied the hotfix mentioned in this blog post of mine on The
Entourage Help Blog
<http://blog.entourage.mvps.org/2007/05/exchange_server_hotfix_resolve.html>.

Good luck!
