ENT2004X CRS on Views/ Too Many Chimes

I have recently run into two issues with Entourage 2004 version 11.2.1.

Can't Remember Views:

It cannot seem to remember my preferred Views. I prefer the Folder List
checked under the View menu. I have it checked but when I close and
start ENT it comes up unchecked.

Where are the user views stored? Maybe I need to trash that file and
start over with a new file?

New Mail Alert:

When I pop mail after being off for some time the new mail alert seems
to chime 25 or 30 times and there is not that much new mail. I have had
to close the application a few times to stop the new mail chimes.

BTW, I am using the Microsoft Sound Set with all options checked in the
Notifications Preference thing.

Surely I am not the only person having the views problem. Help.... what
file do I need to trash to start over with a fresh Views. Each time I
start ENT it fails to display the Folder List view and I have to
manually open it.

I found and fixed the views problem! The view is controlled by the tab
on the right side of the Folder List rather than by the menu item called
Folder List. I clicked to expand the view and quit and restarted
Entourage and it is working great. It is interesting that the menu item
opens and closes the folder view but the button seems to override the
menu item.

This issue is now history!

Now someone help me with the run away new mail notification bells.
