Enteprise Calenders

We have 2 enterprise calendars, one for standard working hours and the other
for after hours and weekends. We have project tasks that require
after-hours work. Is there a way to assign resources to a task which
utilizes the after hour calendar, without having to edit the resources
calendar.

For example we have one tasks identified as a weekend activity, assigned the
after-hours calendar to it, without any problem. However, when we assigned
a resource, which used the standard calendar, the date changed to the
following Monday

We need to schedule after-hours work based on task for any given resource.
What's the easiest way to do this?

Thank you in advance,

Andy

Because you have already created an after hours/weekend work calendar, it is
very simple to adjust the schedule of individual tasks as needed. Here's
how:

1. Select all of the tasks needing the after hours/weekend work schedule
2. Click the Task Information button in the middle of the Standard toolbar
3. Click the Advanced tab
4. Click the Calendar pick list button and select this alternate calendar
5. Select the "Scheduling ignores resource calendars" option
6. Click OK

When you perform the above steps for one or more tasks, Microsoft Project
will override the schedule for the selected task(s) and will schedule the
work according to the calendar you select. The calendar you select
functions like an "override" calendar, and ignores both the Project calendar
(Project - Project Information) and the individual calendars of the
resources assigned to the task(s). Hope this helps.

Yes. In the Task Information dialog box assign on the Advanced tab, the
after work hours calendar is selected in the Calendar: pull down and check
the box that says "Scheduling ignores resource calendars". That will
schedule the resource to work the task outside of regular work hours.
