enter bitmap image pixel data to cells

How do I enter/parse bitmap image pixel grey scale data from pixels to
corresponding cells. I have a series of MRI brain scan vertical slices and
would like to sample across sheets to get horizontal slices, then reconvert
to bitmap data type for viewing. And try some ideas for data analysis.
