enter key instead of shift-enter

I am used to being able to use the enter key to go to the next line, but in
the 2007 version of Word, the enter key takes you down two lines. Is there
any way to change this? Using shift-enter all the time is a pain; using the
enter key by itself is automatic for me when I'm typing a document.

Then you should learn that you're using a computer, not a typewriter,
and if you do nothing at all when you near the edge of your typing
area, it will go to the next line all by itself.

In Word2007 for some reason they decided the default paragraph style
should include space after the paragraph.

You need to modify the paragraph style, or choose a different built-in
style.
