'enter network password' how do I turn off

So far I've found no one who can help with this.
the drop down is really inconvenient.
Happens to my office partner's Outlook also!!
Anyone with an answer?

I have the same problem, damned nuisance. Have tried Article 290684 as
advised in Outlook Help. No joy.

I am using Outlook 2007 with Vista, but had the same problem with Outlook
2003 under XP.
