Enter one, Lose One

I am using Access as a data base for video library.
Lately, everytime I put in a new entry, the first entry
in the entire database is erased. Why is this happening,
but more importantly, how can I prevent it from
happening? I'm fairly new to Access, so any help would
be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What method are you using to insert the records? i.e. are you using a form,
the table etc?

Could you describe this process in more detail please?

Also, how many records are in the table you are trying to update, & what
size is the database (mdb I presume?) file?

I am using a form to insert the new information. I go to
form, fill out the required fields and close it when I'm
finished. The information is then in the database (my
library) There are a total of 7062 records in the table
I am attempting to update. But a grand total of 7813 in
the entire Access in other tables. The size of the
database is 37,052 KB. When I go to forms, enter the new
information, it is deleting the first item listed in that
table. Enter one, lose one. Apparently this has been
happening for a couple for about 3 months, but we just
now figured out what is causing it. Any ideas on how I
can stop it? Thanks so much for your help!!!

By default when you open a bound form it opens at the first existing
record. You _are_ navigating to the new record position before making your
entries right?

If I am reading your message correctly, yes, I am going
to the new record position before making my entries. I
have your e-mail address...thank you. I will post from
there. I know so little about this program and the way
we have it set up is nothing like what informatioin I
have able to get my hands on.
