ok so here I am again. but thank you all SO much for your continued help! how
do i put text over a screen clipping. I have an adobe photoshop document that
I have and i screen clipped it into OneNote and there is some information
that I need to type in for my personal records. How can i do this? Thanks!

You would have to add your annotations elsewhere on the page and drag them
to the place you want.

However, there are other options. If you take the screen shot using another
screen capture program (for example SnagIt from Techsmith), you can paste
that picture in as a graphic. But the easiest way might be just to save the
Photoshop document as a picture that OneNote can understand (png, jpg, etc.)
and then use Insert--> Picture--> From File to add the picture to your
notepage.

Hi Blakey,

you can right click on the clipping in OneNote and select "Set picture as
background". The clipping will be put in the background and you will be able
to write and type over it without a problem...

Hope this helps...

Unfortunately that won't work unless he first saves the screen clipping in
a graphics file format and then pastes that graphics file back into
OneNote as a picture.

Hm, indeed. But there is a faster solution. Just select the clipping, do a
copy and then paste and there you have it.

Actually, the reason you can't set the screen clipping as background is
because it is in a note container. Just drag the clipping out on its own,
then you can write click and make it background.

Also, bear in mind that when you make a screen clipping, the clipboard is
also loaded with the clipping, so you can just paste right away (handy if
you meant to use the clipping in email - no need to copy again from
Onenote). In fact several of us at work adjust the settings for screen
clippings (right click the system tray icon) to make the clipping ONLY go to
the clipboard. If you care more about this ease of use and not about having
the clipping in onenote, this can be handy.
