entering appointments in calendar

I am having no luck in entering future or past events in
my outlook calendar....I run Outlook 2000 on Windows 98.
While I have had this software for some time now, I just
recently started using it because I want to Sync with my
Blackberry. I have tried and tried, but data does not
appear. I do however seem to have info in my archives.

Any help would be appreciated.
