Enterprise calendar

PS2007

We want to force everyone on the company to use enterprise calendars.

Imagine I have people from different cities working on the same project.
Which enterprise calendar should I consider as a project calendar
(Tools/Project Information) given that those cities have different local
holidays?

Thanks in advance

The solution to this issue is for the Project Server administrator to set
the Base Calendar to the correct city calendar for each resource in the
Enterprise Resource Pool. The PM can set the Project Center to the calendar
for his/her own location, which only sets the initial task schedule for the
project. When he/she assigns resources to tasks, the Base Calendar for each
individual resource determines the schedule for the tasks to which each
resource is assigned. Hope this helps.

Thank's Dale, but let me see if I understood. The PM sets and enterprise
calendar that will be overrided by resources calendars, is that it?

The order of precedence for calendars used by Microsoft Project is as
follows:

1. The Project Calendar (Project - Project Information) specifies the
intial task schedule before resources are assigned to tasks.
2. The Resource Calendar for a resource determines the schedule of the task
after the resource is assigned.
3. The PM can override both the Project Calendar and Resource Calendar, if
needed, by assigning a Task Calendar (Project - Task Information -
Advanced).

Obviously the Project Server administrator needs to create the city
calendars to which you refer and to set the appropriate city calendar as the
Base Calendar for each resource in the Enterprise Resource Pool. Hope this
helps.
