Enterprise Custom Field overwriting Local

Hello,

I was recently upgraded to MS Project 2007 to participate in a Project
Server pilot. Enterprise custom fields have now overwritten or taken over
some previously defined custom fields I use for reporting.

I am able to redefine the custom fields but these do not persist when the
Project is saved, closed, and re-opened. Is there a way for me to set
preference for local custom fields over the server fields until we get this
sorted out on an enterprise level?

Thanks
Tom

In the world of Project Server, enterprise fields always replace same-named
local fields. Therefore, I suggest that you launch Microsoft Project and
choose the Computer login so that you are not connected to Project Server,
and then you rename those local custom fields to names not used in the
enterprise. When finished, exit Project Professional so that it saves your
Global.mpt on your hard drive, which should preserve the new names for the
local fields. Then you can relaunch the software and connect to Project
Server again. Hope this helps.
